Hello there! & welcome to my very first blog post. If I am honest, I don’t really know how to kick this off other than to tell you who I am & why I’ve created this blog.
To start, my name is Cheyenne. If you’ve already been to my “About” page, you know this & a few other things, but let’s keep the crash course going with a bit of a refresh. I was born and raised in Central Florida, and in a few months will be packing up & moving North. If I’m honest, I don’t like Florida & cannot wait to get out of here (respectfully) <3
I live full-time in a 36-foot camper with my partner Serrena and our three fur babies. We aren’t your typical “on the go” camper-living family. We take a more long-term approach to the camper living lifestyle, and I can’t wait to share our experiences with you. Buying a camper is a big move and we have learned so much – more of that to come!
I’m sure you have some questions, one of which might be “Why the heck are you starting a blog??” Truthfully, I am not quite sure. I don’t exactly know where this blog is going. I’ve wanted to do this for years but had no idea how to get started, what I would even write about and if anyone would care. Although I still don’t know what I’m doing, my current plan is to write about my life experiences, and honestly just word vomit. & if there is one thing you take from this blog, let it be this: you do not need people to care in order to do what makes you happy.
I am a queer woman living in a camper and I am about to uproot my entire life to travel and pursue shit that I didn’t think I would ever have an opportunity to explore. There is no handbook or “tutorial” on coming out, or being queer, or being a young adult in 2023, and surely nothing on being a young woman purchasing and living in a camper before she’s ever even bought a car. There is no proper Google search results for being in a lesbian relationship, or how to travel more than what your two-weeks of accrued PTO allows, because you do work a full-time job and it’s not remote. We were taught step-by-step how to walk, talk and solve a quadratic equation, but sometimes it feels like we were taught almost nothing about real life. And yet somehow, here we are.
So I guess maybe that’s my purpose in this. Not to provide a step by step booklet on anything, but to show people that you don’t need specific instructions. Life doesn’t have to be that serious all the time. You can do things – hard things – without having a clue, in fact it’s almost better that way.
I hope that if anything, this blog gives you a sense of relate-ability, and maybe a chuckle or two. If you ever feel that you leave here with any unanswered questions or just want to chat, you’re always welcome to reach out via social media messaging, leave a reply below, or send me a message from the Home page. <3 I love you – thank you for being here.
